A little about me...

  • I was born in Heidelberg, Germany (Army brat).

  • I am Mexican - American.

  • I graduated from South Knox High School in 1994.

  • I graduated from IUS in May of 2006.

  • I am licensed to teach Elementary Education, K-12 Spanish, and I have my Library and Media Specialist Certification.

  • This will be my tenth year teaching Spanish at NHHS. (Before teaching Spanish, I taught a year of adult ESL.)

  • I am the NHHS FCA sponsor.

  • My husband and I have been married 22 years.

  • Our son, Isaiah, is a freshman at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne where he is playing football and double majoring in Criminal Justice and Sociology.

  • Our daughter, Mackenzie, is a sophomore at NHHS. She plays volleyball and softball.

  • My favorite foods are Hiko-A-Man sushi, and any Mexican food (but especially my mom's homemade tortillas).

  • As a family, we enjoy playing board games, and we like to spend time together outside.

  • We love to travel and we spend most of our family vacations on the beach.

  • When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time at my children's sporting events, shopping, doing Crossfit, and attending church at First Capital Christian.

That pretty much sums up who I am, and I probably told you more than you wanted to know, but if I didn't....plese feel free to cantact me with any questions or comments.

I am always available to discuss the academic progress of my students, and I believe that open communication lines between teachers, students, and parents are the backbone of each student's academic success!
